AIWA Clinic’s certified urologists – surgeons consult and do health examinations, as well as perform complicated procedures and surgeries, to improve patient’s health state and quality of life. Regardless of how complicated a health condition is, each patient receives full attention from the medical personel and the most suitable solution. Clinic’s doctors, who gained additional knowledge in international seminars and congresses, continue to apply this knowledge in their workplaces, taking care of the patients, as it is done by world class specialists.
When should a patient go to see the doctor?
As the knowledge level of prostate and urological problems is increasing, men patients more often start to pay attention and visit specialists even when there are no complaints. Urological diseases can be caused by blood vessel problems, diabetes and other diseases, which if not timely treated or addressed even in cases of slight discomfort can lead to serious urologic diseases.
AIWA Clinic doctors encourage every man, after experiencing first signs of discomfort, not ignore it and do necessary examinations, because often different urologic diseases, even the most serious ones, develop without noticeable symptoms; therefore, even a small discomfort can be sign for greater problems. However, to make sure that there are no health related risks, medical appointments are recommended for every age, even if there are no health complaints.
Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HOLEP)
In moment when a patient experiences first symptoms, such as urinating difficulties, he must visit urologist, to determine possibility of prostate adenoma, which is thick knot development in the prostate tissues, which after some time period might block urethra, resulting in urinating difficulties that might even lead to its inability.
Medical technology HOLEP is enucleation of the prostate, which is done by application of Holmium Laser. This method is based on the gradual prostate’s hyperplastic nodule enucleation with its following lobes.
Prostate adenoma is not a life threatening condition; nevertheless, if it is treated timely, normally functioning urinary tract operations and patient’s life quality improvement is ensured. The surgery is performed through the urinary tract without incisions. During the optical instrument (endoscope) screening, the adenome tissues are removed.
Laser dissection of bladder stones
AIWA Clinic offers patients laser surgery for kidney stones and bladder stones removal. The operation is minimally invasive, and no incisions are made during it. During the procedure, the kidney stones or bladder stones are broken down into small parts by a laser and removed by the surgeon during the operation, or they are left and later removed from the body through the bladder.
The procedure may be recommended for patients in cases where previous treatments have not shown the desired results, or in situations where the stones are large in size, irregular in shape, or cause damage to the surrounding tissues.
Circumcision
Phimosis is a condition in which the foreskin can’t be retracted from around the tip of the penis, leading to recurrent paraphimosis, chronic inflammation of the foreskin and head of the penis. In such cases, circumcision is performed, which is the surgical removal of the foreskin.
Paraphimosis is characterized by severe pain and swelling, which prevents the foreskin from being pulled over the penis’s head. In such cases, immediate consultation with a urologist is required, during which the course of further treatment or the need for a surgical procedure is clarified.
Circumcision can be performed for both medical and ritual purposes.
Varicocele
Varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the loose bag of skin that holds your testicles (scrotum), which develops secondary to testicular venous insufficiency, causing retrograde blood flow from the left renal vein.
Sometimes varicocele develops slowly, is asymptomatic, and does not cause any symptoms. Prolonged and untreated large varicocele can reduce sperm and testosterone production.
During the visit to the urologist, carefully examining each case individually, the doctor decides on the most appropriate treatment method, having minimally invasive and surgical methods of treatment.
Hydrocele
A hydrocele is a disease characterized by fluid accumulation in the testicles, resulting in swelling or discomfort. Surgery may be initiated in cases where the hydrocele reduces the patient’s quality of life, the infection has occurred, or to prevent a cosmetic defect caused by the disease.
AIWA Clinic offers hydrocele procedures performed by highly qualified specialists using the highest quality medical equipment in the Baltics. Hydrocele surgery is performed by making a small incision in the scrotum or above the hydrocele formation, releasing the accumulated fluid. The operation time can reach 30 minutes, and the patient can return home the same day.
Benign / malignant tumors of the bladder
In our clinic, we offer resection of malignant and benign bladder tumors. The type of surgery depends on the degree and type of tumor development, but transurethral resection or TURBT is one of the most common surgeries.
During the surgery, an optical instrument, a cystoscope, is inserted through the urethra. The surgeon can use a wire loop or other resection techniques, such as burning the tumor base with a cystoscope, a high-energy laser, to remove tumor tissue. Our clinic’s experienced specialists will delve into each patient’s medical history’s most delicate details, thus selecting the most appropriate treatment plan and ensuring an effective communication process.
Vasectomy
Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization
Aiwa Clinic offers vasectomy surgery to patients. Vasectomy is a surgical procedure for male sterilization in which the testicular ligaments are cut or bandaged. A vasectomy is a safe and painless operation that is recognized as a 99% effective contraception method and does not affect long-term sexual function.
TURP
In our clinic, we offer patients TURP or transurethral resection of prostate surgery, a surgical procedure where a part of the prostate is excised. TURP surgery is recommended for patients when prostate enlargement or prostatic hyperplasia causes unpleasant symptoms that reduce the patient’s quality of life, or when previous treatments have not shown the expected improvements. In the TURP operation, a surgical instrument (resectoscope) is used, and the prostate adenoma is gradually excised with a specially equipped wire loop. After the procedure, a catheter is inserted into the bladder to remove urine. TURP transurethral resection effectively improves the disease’s symptoms, such as the frequent need to urinate, nocturia, and difficulty in completely clearing the bladder.
Testicular tumors
In our clinic, we perform the operative treatment of testicular tumors. Aiwa Clinic’s highly qualified staff will detail each patient’s complaints and medical history, thus developing the most appropriate treatment plan.
Treatments depend on the stage and type of tumor development, but chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery are the most common treatments.
Testicular tumors can be easily diagnosed and effectively treated if detected at an early stage, so we want to emphasize that the patient urgently needs to see a doctor if discomfort or changes in the genitals have been noticed.
